This is Ukraine’s forecast for this year’s grain harvest

Ukraine’s First Deputy Agriculture Minister Taras Vysotsky said on Monday that the grain harvest in 2022 will be around 48.5 million tonnes.

Last year’s harvest was around 86 million tonnes, but Russia attacked Ukraine on February 24 this year, and Vysotsky said the total acreage in Ukraine has declined by 25% in 2022.

Vysotsky added, at a press conference, that the exportable surplus in the 2022-2023 crop could reach 30 million tons, explaining that the wheat crop will be between 17 and 20 million tons.
