The Basic Instinct actress spoke bravely about it for the first time.
Sharon Stone spoke boldly about suffering nine miscarriages.
The Basic Instinct star opened up about her experience with losing babies in a heartbreaking Instagram post.
“We as women don’t have a forum to discuss the depth of this loss. I lost nine children to miscarriage,” Stone said.
“It is no small thing, physically or emotionally. However, we are made to feel that it is something to bear alone and secretly with some sort of sense of failure. Instead of receiving the much-needed compassion, empathy and healing we so desperately need.
“Women’s health and well-being left to the care of male ideology has become, at best, neglectful, ignorant of fact, and violently oppressive in the effort.”
Stone has three adopted children, Roan, 22, Laird, 16, and Quinn, 15.
She was approved to adopt her eldest son while returning home from a miscarriage.
Last year, Stone spoke of the agony of going through “36 hours of labor” after losing a baby five and a half months pregnant.
She told BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour that it was a “truly devastating experience”.
“When I lost my last baby, I went back to the hospital and had 36 hours of labor on my own to, of course, not give birth – and the nurses who were in the hospital with me two days earlier when they removed the last baby came and sat her down. come with me on your day off.
“I really felt a strong sense of brotherhood and understanding. Because I would be alone. And that’s such a lonely feeling anyway.”
Stone previously said she had several miscarriages while she was married to Phil Bronstein, from whom she divorced in 2004.
