Ras Al Khaimah Police Raise Awareness of Dangers of Addiction Through Movie Screens

The Department of Narcotics Control, in cooperation with the Department of Media and Public Affairs – Awareness and Media Campaigns Section, Ras Al Khaimah Police – coinciding with International Drug Control Day, which falls on June 26, each year, which is carried out under the slogan “Drugs .. a painful end” – began to broadcast legal texts and awareness messages to defeat the dangers of drug addiction and substance abuse, through cinema screens in 3 “Arabic” languages , English and Chinese”. This emerges in the implementation of the Ministry of Interior’s strategy, to spread and strengthen security awareness across a wide range, to achieve a drug-free society, providing adequate solutions to drug users, taking advantage of the provisions of the law that guarantee exemption from legal liability to applicants to the police, the Public Ministry or the therapeutic unit, for voluntary treatment of addiction, on their own, or through a family member and their family members.
Lieutenant Colonel Matar Ali Al-Matar, head of the Technical Support Department of the Ras Al Khaimah Police Anti-Drug Department, explained that the activation of the transmission of legal texts through cinema screens aims to draw the attention of young people, parents, families and all segments of society towards concerted efforts to protect members of society from being lost as victims of abuse and to face the scourge of abuse.
