NY Governor Hochul tests positive for COVID – New York Daily News

Governor Kathy Hochul has tested positive for COVID, she tweeted on Sunday.

“Today I tested positive for COVID-19. Fortunately, I’m vaccinated and boosted, and I’m asymptomatic. I will be isolated and working remotely this week,” said the governor.

“A reminder to all New Yorkers: get vaccinated and get strong, get tested and stay home if you don’t feel well,” he added.

A spokesperson for Hochul said the governor “will follow guidelines” on how long to isolate, without specifying the number of days.

Hochul is the latest elected to test positive for the dreaded virus as COVID case numbers are on the rise in New York and beyond.

Last month, Mayor Adams revealed a positive test result and vetoed public appearances for five days.

Numerous Washington bigwigs have tested positive for COVID following the annual Gridiron Dinner for Journalists and Politicians.

Hochul received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine and two booster shots, the most recent of which was on April 4, according to his office.

As COVID numbers continue to rise, Hochul and other local leaders have resisted bringing back lockdown measures.

“I’m going to protect the health of New Yorkers, but I’m also protecting the economy,” she told “The Cats Roundtable” in an April 17 interview. You can count on it.”
