Nuclear power ‘doesn’t compare’ economically

Labor Senator Tony Sheldon says that nuclear energy does not “accumulate economically”.

“If it was going to work… the market would be jumping up and down and knocking on our doors right now, this minute, to get nuclear power in place,” he told Sky News Australia.

“The reality is that the energy market itself is saying that it is not the best option.

“It’s cheaper to have renewable energy, it’s cheaper to eventually have hydrogen and we have to make sure we have the coal and gas mix.”
