Michael Mosley’s Weight Loss Tips Recommends ‘Banning’ These Fruits to Lose a Stone

When it comes to quick weight loss, Michael Mosley has a lot of advice.

And one of his unusual tips boils down to favoring some fruits over others.

The presenter and creator of the 5:2 and Fast 800 diets is a fan of Mediterranean diets and intermittent fasting. A key part of his philosophy is to follow a low-calorie, high-protein, low-sugar diet.

The former doctor is guided on his own weight loss journey after he lost 1.4 stone (8.9 kg or nearly 20 pounds) and “reversed” his diabetes by changing his diet and exercise, reports the Express.

On his Channel 4 show, Lose a Stone in 21 Days, he mentored five volunteers through a rapid weight loss regimen.

Michael began, “Your waist shouldn’t measure more than half your height. Too much belly fat increases your risk of certain cancers, heart disease, and type 2 diabetes.”

He suggested that if people don’t take steps to combat it, “it could take years off your life.”

The expert provided his top tips on how to lose belly fat fast.

On the Fast 800 website, Michael and his team compiled a list of foods dieters can eat to lose weight quickly, before moving on to a Mediterranean diet, which he described as a “way of life.”

On the website, it recommended that dieters start their day with eggs, as they are low-calorie — about 63 calories in a medium-sized egg.

Lean people should increase their protein intake by consuming foods like oily fish, shrimp, chicken and turkey.

For meatless eaters, beans – particularly edamame – dairy, nuts and seeds can provide adequate protein.

Dieters should also stock up on healthy vegetables, the more colorful and varied the better.

And Michael far from banning dieters from eating fats.

Nuts are high in fat, but they are also rich in protein, minerals and vitamins.

Full-fat yogurt is also recommended and can be enjoyed with a handful of berries.

However, to lose even one stone in three weeks, some foods must be limited or cut out altogether.

Michael suggested banning super sweet fruits like mangoes, pineapples and melons, opting for berries instead.

And when craving treats like ice cream, chocolate or cake, the expert recommended that dieters indulge in a square of dark chocolate.

Snacks in general should be avoided, but if a thinner must eat between meals, they should opt for things like nuts, seeds, a sliver of cheese or non-starchy vegetables.

In Lose a Stone in 21 Days, some of Michael’s case studies lost weight by trying low-carb versions of his favorite foods — including takeaways.

While the steps are there to follow, quick weight loss isn’t always easy.

One of Michael’s most important tips is to remain responsible.

“All the weight loss studies show that the people who keep it up are accountable to someone or something.”
