Ten Hag’s Targeted Kante
Manchester United’s new manager Erik Ten Hag has his eye on next season and working out his plans – many of which we’ll discuss later – but The Mirror has a surprise suggestion. The Dutchman is keen to bring in N’Golo Kante from Chelsea. The 31-year-old French international has one more year on his contract and Thomas Tuchel could let him go to rebuild the team.

Paper Round Vision: Kante is clearly a class act and a popular player everywhere he goes – United need to change the mood at Carrington if recent news is to be true. However, it’s a gamble to bring in a player on the wrong side of the 30 and the key would be to give him a relatively short contract – but it’s unclear whether a player of Kante’s position would need to relegate.
Ten Hag to keep Ramsay
Manchester United’s new manager Erik ten Hag is finalizing his plans for next season and has met with John Murtough, the club’s director of football, to discuss them. The Telegraph reports that he has made the decision on his coaching roster, and the Dutchman is keen to keep the team’s dead ball specialist Eric Ramsay.
Paper Round Vision: United aren’t especially impressive on set pieces, but most clubs tend to struggle unless they put in hours on the training ground. Given the vast scope of problems at the club that Ten Hag has to solve, it might just be easy to retain a manager with limited responsibilities and focus first and foremost on defence, passing, offense and morale.
Seven options for Ten Hag
The Mail reports that Erik ten Hag and potential assistant manager Steve McClaren attended a meeting in the Netherlands to discuss the upcoming season at Old Trafford. Seven potential transfers are listed. One is Chelsea midfielder Declan Rice and another is Barcelona’s Frenkie De Jong. In attack, Darwin Nunez and Victor Osimhen are possibilities, and there are three names for a defense that has struggled to keep a clean sheet: Jurrien Timber, Paul Tores and Tyrell Malacia.
Paper Round Vision: United will lose Edinson Cavani, Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata, Lee Grant, Jesse Lingard and quite possibly more players this summer, including Phil Jones, Eric Bailly and Mason Greenwood. While this poses a major challenge for Ten Hag to start with an extensive rebuild, it is likely what the club needs to sort out its future.
PSG considers three options
Paris Saint-Germain have hired three coaches to replace Mauricio Pochettino in the capital. Pochettino has struggled to get his team to compete in the Champions League and the club wants a rebuild. Spanish newspaper Marca reports that Thiago Motta at Spezia is one option, former Germany coach Joachim Low is another, as is River Plate coach Michel Gallardo.
Paper Round Vision: It’s always a risk to name a coach from another continent and it doesn’t look like PSG can pay any more bets – Gallardo would be it. However, Low is far from perfect as he is not used to the day-to-day pressure of club management, and Motta may not have the experience. However, he used to play for PSG so at least he could fit in quickly.
