The City of Windsor says green spaces and trails at McKee Park will be closed from May 25 for three to four weeks, but parking and the boat launch ramp will remain open.

Teams will remove and replace asphalt pathways, install three new bench pads, and lay concrete foundations for eight new decorative light stands.

Works will also be carried out to improve drainage.

Park users are asked to avoid construction areas.

Once the base is launched, further improvements will follow in phases, including the installation of the boardwalk and lookout point; trails, lighting, silos and benches; and installation of accessible playground.

The upgrades will cost about $400,000, with $150,000 from the city’s capital budget, $50,000 from ward funds, and $200,000 from the Gordie Howe International Bridge Company Community Benefit Plan.
