A grass fire burning in Colorado Springs on Thursday triggered an evacuation notice.
The fire is burning in the 6700 block area of Ackerman Drive, according to the Colorado Springs Fire Department.

People in the Summer Grace Street and Akerman Drive area were ordered to evacuate.
Firefighters are at the scene where the fire burned and scorched fences along an area of open space.
There are no immediate reports of homes lost or people injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Evacuees from the Akerman fire are being sent to UC Health Park.
Meanwhile, Colorado Springs firefighters are fighting a fire at 3831 N. Cascade Avenue, where the Skylark Mobile Home Park was evacuated.
