Frenkie de Jong ‘wants Manchester City transfer over Utd despite being offered £6m less’, Lewandowski ‘AGREES with Barcelona’

Shaw expects a new £180k a week deal

EXCLUSIVE: Luke Shaw will be on hold for a new £180,000 a week deal at Old Trafford until his new manager gives the thumbs up, writes JOSHUA MBU.

Shaw, 26, has just one season left on his current contract and so far Manchester United bosses are in no rush to reach an extension.

Instead, United members insist the club will trigger their 12-month option to keep the left-back until 2024.

And that will give ten Hag time to make an informed decision about whether the defender can be a part of their long-term plans.

Shaw has had an interrupted career at Old Trafford since his £32m signing from Southampton in 2014.

Brilliant spells were offset by serious injuries and a battle to win over former manager José Mourinho.

And while he got back to his best last season, Ten Hag wants to properly evaluate him before committing to a long-term decision.

United have a similar opinion of the 29-year-old Brazilian midfielder Fred, although they are more willing to hear offers this summer for the right price.
