Coup to remove ‘cancer-stricken’ Vladimir Putin is underway, he will leave at the end of the year, says Ukraine spy chief

A coup to oust Vladimir Putin from power is already underway, said Ukriane’s spy chief.

Major General Kyrylo Budanov, 36, believes the tyrant’s calamitous war in Ukraine will reach a “breaking point” in the summer and end before the end of the year.

The official told Sky News that Putin will be removed from office within that period as his invasion remains stalled in the face of strong Ukrainian resistance – with rumors continuing about the Russian president’s health.

General Budanov said: “The breaking point will be in the second part of August.

“Most active combat actions will have ended by the end of this year.

“As a result, we will renew Ukrainian power in all of our lost territories, including Donbas and Crimea.”

Putin had hoped for a quick victory in Ukraine – but the faltering invasion saw thousands of Russian soldiers killed and massive amounts of hardware destroyed by defending heroes.

General Budanov believes the war will be over in a few months and will see Putin – who he says is seriously ill with cancer – removed from power.

He told the agency: “This will eventually lead to the Russian Federation’s leadership change.

“This process has already been launched and they are moving in that direction.”

The official said a coup is already underway.

He added: “They’re moving this way and it’s impossible to stop it.”

General Budanov also fueled rumors about the tyrant’s health, claiming that he is in “very bad psychological and physical condition and is very sick”.

This comes after a high-ranking oligarch claimed Putin is “very sick with blood cancer” in the audio recording obtained by New Lines Magazine.

Putin’s health came under heavy scrutiny after the war in Ukraine, and rumors continued to mount after last week’s military parade, when the tyrant was seen with a blanket over his legs.

Claims from anti-Kremlin sources allege that Putin, 69, is due for cancer surgery “at any time”.

Meanwhile, a former NATO commander said Putin is being surrounded by “tough men” who want him to be ousted because of his terrible handling of the war amid rumors of a coup.

Sir James Everard, who served as NATO’s deputy supreme allied commander in Europe, said Putin was “in trouble” and had no time to prevent a coup against him.

Speaking to The Sun Online, the former British general said: “Putin is in a terrible situation. It was entirely of his own making.

“There are tough men in Russia who would have removed him if they had lost Ukraine to NATO and the EU.

“He acted and now it’s all gone terribly wrong and he’s vulnerable again and he’s in trouble.”
