Carlo Ancelotti makes big statement by Mohamed Salah after Liverpool’s ‘best in the world’ claim

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti believes Mohamed Salah is the best in the world in his position.

Liverpool will face the La Liga giants later this month in the Champions League final in hopes of winning the competition for a second time under Jurgen Klopp. The two teams met in 2018 in Kiev, although it was Real Madrid that won that night.

Salah is hoping to play a major role in the final at the Stade de France in two weeks’ time after telling reporters he will be fit for the final despite being substituted in the first half of the FA Cup final against Chelsea on Saturday.

The Egyptian told beINSports this week: “If you compare me to any player in my position, not just on my team but in the world, you’ll find that I’m the best.

“I always focus on my work and do my best and my numbers are the best proof of my words. I like to always create a new challenge for myself, work differently and make a difference and that is my duty.”

The 29-year-old isn’t the only one who thinks so, as Ancelotti agrees.

“Salah said that in his position he is the best in the world and I think he is right,” he told media on Saturday. “I agree with him. In his position, yes, he is the best in the world.”

Real Madrid are looking to secure their fourteenth European title, while Liverpool are looking for number seven. Ancelotti has won the competition once before with his current team, as well as twice with Serie A giants AC Milan.
