Australian Foreign Affairs editor Greg Sheridan says “nothing substantial” will come from Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s visit to Ukraine’s capital Kyiv.
“It’s just a matter of symbolism,” he told Sky News presenter Peta Credlin.
“I will not object if Albanese goes, because it will be to express solidarity with a democratic nation under invasion by a totalitarian nation.
“But the government did a lot of travel in its first few weeks, most of it justified.
“Now that they’ve had all these trips to do, I’d like them to go home and get on with the business of ruling.”
