Opposition leader Anthony Albanese says the Labor Party’s new housing policy is “personal” as a generation risks losing the “great Australian dream of owning their own home”.
Labor is expected to announce its “Aid to Buy” policy, which will help up to 10,000 middle-income people enter the housing market with lower deposits and mortgages.
Albanese said Australia needs more social housing and affordable housing for essential workers.
“We run the risk of being out of reach for a generation and we need to look at constructive ways to help that, in addition to dealing with the homeless, dealing with public housing, dealing with affordable housing,” Albanese told Sky. News Australia.
