Aerial footage shows coastal fire burning in Orange County

Aerial footage captured by the Orange County Fire Authority’s Fire Integrated Real Time Intelligence System (FIRIS) on May 11 and 12 shows coastal fire burning in Laguna Niguel, California. As of Thursday morning, FIRIS reported that the fire was “maintained” on just under 200 acres. “The aggressive containment lines from last night’s feature are holding up well,” FIRIS said in a tweet. The Orange County Fire Authority has issued mandatory evacuation orders for residents of Laguna Niguel. At least 20 houses were destroyed by the fire, according to local media. ABC 10 reported that Edison of Southern California said “electrical circuit activity” was detected early in the fire on May 11. Credit: FIRIS via Storyful
